Our Team

Meet the team at the Psychiatry Center of Frederick, a group of experienced professionals who are passionate about providing the highest quality mental health care to our community.

Dr. Allan Levy

Dr. Allan Levy works with individuals and groups and prescribes psychiatric medications for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, addiction recovery, and AD/HD. He enjoys working with Suboxone groups in his Suboxone program for people in recovery from opiate addictions, in operation since 2007. He graduated from Georgetown University and Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed his psychiatric residency at Rush University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine, and is certified in Suboxone prescription, Psychodrama, and Independent Medical Examination. Dr. Levy works closely with therapists on his staff to integrate their mental health care and psychiatric treatment.

Dr. Wendy Levy

Dr. Wendy Levy works with individual adults and couples of all ages, especially those struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, AD/HD, and other learning disabilities such as dyslexia and high functioning autism (HFA). Her experience includes working with adult children and spouses of alcoholics, trauma survivors, aging issues, relationship and/or workplace difficulties, exceptional learners, and questions about spirituality. She graduated from Georgetown University and the University of Chicago/Chicago Theological Seminary consortium with studies in psychology, psychotherapy, and religion. She believes in the power of understanding the origins of mental health symptoms in order to change negative thoughts and situations. She embraces exploration of fundamental questions about meaning, identity, and purpose in life. Dr. Levy is an accredited supervisor and member of the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as well as a Fellow of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education. She works closely with Dr. Allan Levy for patients who request both medication and psychotherapy. She appreciates the twelve-step programs as partners in recovery. 

Michael E. Sutton

Michael E. Sutton is serving as a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern. He will complete his Master of Arts internship and Maryland state licensure requirements to become a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor through The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. 

Michael works with adult individuals and couples who are experiencing a wide range of issues, problems, and disorders. He is focusing on areas related to stress, depression, anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), substance abuse/addictions,  and life changes, offering support for single parents, teachers, law enforcement, first responders, and military personnel, veterans, and families. 

Michael uses person-centered, positive psychology as well as cognitive behavior therapeutic approaches to help his clients live healthier and happier lives. Michael is a U.S. Army veteran, concurrently serving as a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) federal employee.

Michael earned a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Maryland Global College and has a Graduate Certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. He is also a Crisis Text Line Crisis Counselor and the President-Elect for the Maryland Counselors Association (MCA)/Maryland Counselors for Social Justice (MCSJ) (2024-25).
