Social Anxiety

Social anxiety disorder is characterized by overwhelming anxiety and excessive self-consciousness in social situations, and can be debilitating at work, in school, and in relationships. Our treatment approach for social anxiety focuses on helping patients develop skills to feel more comfortable and confident in social settings. Through cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and other therapeutic techniques, we work to alter negative thought patterns and behaviors relating to social situations, enabling patients to engage more fully and successfully in their work, relationship, and personal lives.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

Generalized Anxiety Disorder is marked by persistent and excessive worry about various aspects of life. At the Psychiatry Center of Frederick, we treat GAD by helping patients understand their anxiety triggers and develop coping mechanisms. Our treatment plans often include a combination of therapy, such as CBT, and, if necessary, medication management to alleviate symptoms and improve overall functioning.
